Find answers to common questions about accommodation, groups, events and how things work at Remjeng Retreat.
Booking & planning
Can we book Remjeng Retreat just for the day?
Yes. You do not need to book accommodation for a day event.
It suits a retreat, workshop, family gathering, company day, birthday or other shared activity.
If you need more preparation time or want to stay longer, we recommend our 2-day arrangement. Accommodation is chosen separately as needed.
Must we book accommodation with Groups & Events?
No. The base price is for the venue, not accommodation.
Choose the accommodation and nights you need. For example, book the area for two days but have overnight guests for only one night.
How does it work for more than 20 people?
Up to 20 people can book directly online, depending on availability and arrangements.
For 21–40 people, contact us first. We discuss group size, event type, seating, weather shelter, sanitary facilities and other practical needs.
Once plans are confirmed, we help with the booking and send a booking link or invoice depending on arrangements and customer type.
Our normal maximum event capacity is 40 people.
Are you 41–50 people? Do still contact us. Some arrangements may be possible after individual assessment.
A maximum of 25 people can stay overnight on the estate.
Why is there an extra fee for groups over 20?
Groups over 20 pay a mandatory event and operating fee based on size. See Prices & Info for current levels.
It covers additional sanitary/toilet facilities, increased waste and recycling capacity, final cleaning and basic restoration of the booked event/glamping area.
It is not a deposit and does not replace your orderly handover as instructed.
Do we need extra toilets for larger events?
For groups over 20, Remjeng Retreat plans additional sanitary/toilet facilities as part of the larger event arrangements.
The cost is included in the event and operating fee.
Food & self-catering
What do you mean by self-catering?
Remjeng Retreat is a place where you create your own stay or event.
You are responsible for food/catering, table settings, decorations and running the event.
Bring your own items or hire selected things from us, such as tables and benches, tablecloths, decorations and sound equipment.
We stay in the background and keep the practical facilities working, but do not run the event for you.
Can we cook for ourselves?
Yes.
The outdoor kitchen has a gas hob, running drinking water, washing-up facilities and basic utensils. Basic crockery is available, but for events and larger groups you must plan crockery for your numbers and bring it or hire a separate package. Cook dinner together, use the pizza oven or cook by the fire.
The main house also has a kitchen when included in the booking.
These are ordinary household/outdoor kitchens, not professional restaurant kitchens. Cooking for a larger group is possible, but arrangements must suit your menu and numbers.
Can we book catering?
Yes, but you book and pay for catering directly.
Remjeng Retreat does not operate its own catering service, but we are happy to suggest local options and suppliers.
You choose what suits your group.
Must we hire tables, linen, decorations and sound from you?
No.
You are welcome to bring your own tablecloths, decorations, crockery, sound equipment and other items.
Our extras make planning easier for groups who prefer to hire directly from us.
Accommodation
How many people can stay overnight?
A maximum of 25 people can stay at Remjeng Retreat when all accommodation is used.
Okavango – up to 5 people Kalahari – up to 5 people Lillstugan – up to 6 people Main house – up to 9 people
Accommodation is chosen separately to suit your group.
Are the glamping tents like normal hotel rooms?
No, and that is part of the experience.
These are real glamping tents with proper beds and comfortable surroundings, but you are still close to nature under canvas.
Even in summer, evenings and nights can be chilly, so bring weather-appropriate clothing.
The Okavango safari tent has heating available.
The Kalahari bell tent has no fixed heating or electricity.
Does Lillstugan have a toilet and shower?
Lillstugan has no private shower.
A simple toilet facility is near the cottage. Showers are in Badhuset or in the main house when included in your booking.
Lillstugan also has a simple summer kitchen with a small fridge and facilities for basic cooking.
Is there nearby accommodation for groups over 25?
Yes. There are other options nearby and towards Charlottenberg and Arvika, as well as private rentals.
Your group books and pays for external accommodation, but we are happy to suggest options.
Events & extras
Which groups can book Badhuset?
Badhuset is best suited to groups of up to 15 people.
For 16–25 people, booking may be possible only by agreement and after assessing the intended use. Smaller groups and separate times or sessions can be discussed and must be approved before confirmation.
Badhuset cannot be booked for events with more than 25 people. This capacity limit also applies if the group is divided into smaller groups or separate sessions.
What is the stretch tent?
For the 2027 season, we plan to offer a larger open stretch tent of approximately 7.5 × 10 metres. This extra can only be confirmed once purchase and delivery are complete.
It provides flexible space for shared meals, workshops, gatherings and other events.
Capacity depends on the layout. Tables and seated guests allow fewer people than a more open setup.
For groups of around 20 or more, we recommend considering a larger weather shelter as part of planning.
The tent has a roof but not fixed walls around the entire space. It shelters from sun and light rain above but is not a fully enclosed venue.
Placement is planned with us according to your group, ground, weather and use. Whole Estate bookings offer several possible positions, including lawns when conditions allow.
What is the smaller canvas shelter?
It is a simpler canvas shelter of about 6 × 6 metres, providing extra protection from sun and light rain.
It is an open shelter, not a fully enclosed marquee.
It suits a small seating area, workshop, serving area or a complement to other shared spaces.
How many people fit in the Orangery?
The Orangery is best for around 10 seated guests, with a maximum capacity of about 12.
For larger groups, we combine the estate’s spaces. The Orangery can be used with the outdoor kitchen, lawns and a canvas or stretch tent, depending on your arrangements.
Practical information
Is Remjeng Retreat private during our booking?
We welcome only one external group at a time.
The glamping and event area is private to your group and is not shared with other external guests.
When only that area is booked, we as owners may stay in the main house. We stay in the background and are available for practical matters, but do not use your group’s private area.
The driveway and parking are shared practical spaces.
With a Whole Estate booking, your group accesses the bookable guest areas in your chosen arrangements, with no other external groups booked alongside you.
Is cleaning included?
Yes. For Groups & Events this covers the accommodation and event/glamping areas included in your booking. Normal final cleaning, basic cleaning and restoration are included. For groups over 20, final cleaning of the booked event/glamping area is included in the mandatory event and operating fee.
Follow a simple departure checklist: wash and put away used items, empty fridges, sort waste, remove belongings and decorations, strip hired linen as instructed and restore furniture and equipment. Remjeng Retreat then completes the final check before the next group.
Full departure service is an optional extra at SEK 3,500 per stay, only for Groups & Events/the glamping area up to and including 20 people. It does not apply to bookings including the main house/Whole Estate. We then handle washing up, linen, towels and more of the restoration.
Even with this service, leave the property safe, orderly and respectfully. Remove belongings and externally hired items, sort waste and report damage or major spills. Damage, missing items, exceptional sanitary soiling, confetti, glitter, broken glass, exceptional waste volumes and external installations left behind are excluded and may be charged separately.
Can you help with transport, catering or other suppliers?
We do not book these services as part of the base price, but are happy to offer local suggestions.
Your group is responsible for booking, payment and agreements with external suppliers.
Can we see more photos before deciding?
Absolutely.
Contact us for more photos of a particular accommodation, area or other part of Remjeng Retreat. If relevant photos are available, we will gladly share them so you can get a better feel before deciding.
How does the security deposit work?
The deposit is refundable security, not an extra fee automatically retained.
For all approved group sizes: SEK 5,000.
After departure we check the booked areas and equipment. If everything is in the agreed condition, the deposit is refunded within seven banking days.
For damage, exceptional soiling or other documented extra costs, only reasonable actual costs are deducted. You receive a written breakdown. Any balance is refunded; costs exceeding the deposit may be invoiced. Normal wear and included cleaning are not charged against it.
